Black Pearl Mask

Sheet masks are so much fun to use, I do prefer them to mud masks.

One of my favourite is Black Pearl Mask by My Beauty Diary (www.beautydiary.com.tw). My Beauty Diary is a brand from Taiwan, it is very famous is Asia and America. They have a wide variety of different sheet masks suitable for different skin types and needs. Sheet masks are literally a sheet or cloth masks soaked in conditioning essence/serum.

Black Pearl Mask is highly recommended by beauty gurus and it has great reviews on You Tube channels

It is part of My Beauty Diary Natural Key Line and suitable for all skin types, helps to restore skins resilience and radiance and also softens and whitens the skin. By whiten it does not mean that my skin becomes even more pale :) it just means that it does its best to even out and brighten the skin.

Black Pearl Masks are individually wrapped. You take it out from the packaging, gently unfold then apply the mask to the face while carefully adjusting to your face shape, and that is all there is to it.

I usually leave my mask on for 30min while I watch TV. When the time is up I take it off, binning the sheet. Leftover serum I massage into my face and neck and just leave it.

So if you have not tried it yourself I would recommend you do it :)
In my opinion definitely worth the hype, what do you say?

Morning Makeup

Are you one of those women who like to spend five minutes longer in bed rather then doing full face make-up in the morning? It usually takes me a few snooze offs before I get up, therefore my make-up routine needs to be quick and to the point. At my workplace air-con is out of order most of the summer time so I like my make-up to be light and fresh looking all day. To achieve that I just touch up with a bit of pressed powder and lippy :)

Anyway, these are the make-up products I use on daily basis in the morning when I only have five minutes to get ready. Before I start I use Velcro fringe holder to keep my fringe out of the way.
Here it is:

1. First of all I apply the PORE fessional by Benefit (www.benefitcosmetics.com). It is oil-free, lightweight, translucent, silky balm that minimises the appearance of pores.

2. Then by using blending sponge (mine is from Superdrug) I even out my skin complexion with BB cream. This one is by Etude House called Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit in W15 Sand Beige. Summer time I favour BB creams over foundations and I am a big fan of Asian BB creams as they simply work better for me and give me more coverage.

3. It took me forever to find a perfect cream blusher that would work with my dry cheeks and complement my skin tone and I am so happy with this one. My favourite blusher is Boho Balm Cheek & Lip Tint by MeMeMe in Coral Taupe (www.mememecosmetics.co.uk). It is a great product.

4. Quickly then I fill in my eyebrows with Drawing Eye Brow liner by Etude House in shade 01. (www.etude.co.kr)

5. Of course that is followed by Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. (www.urbandecay.co.uk)

6. This is my go to eyeshadow quad when I am in a rush, it has four beautifully pigmented shimmering shades (no fallout) in GD01 by Japanese company Para Do. Packaging is so cute, don't you think?

7. Volume Lash Fiber Mascara by B&C in black. It is the best mascara I have tried so far. It has curved brush coated with conditioning fibers that do wonders for my eyelashes.

8. And the last item is the Lancome Lip Gloss in shade 308. Beautiful colour and not sticky. I highly recommend it.

This is very natural work day look that goes with anything I wear.

What is your morning make-up routine?

Fish Pedicure

This definitely was the most bizarre thing I tried in the name of beauty. It might sound a bit odd and scary but it really is not. It was actually ticklish and I giggled for most of the procedure. After a little while you get use to it and the novelty and your dry skin starts to go away. I had mine done while in Singapore at Fish Reflexology on Sentosa Island although the spa therapy was first discovered in the Middle East. Fish Reflexology uses Turkish Garra Ruffa species native to hot springs, lakes and river basins. Fish foot spa pedicure is done by dozens of tiny fish nibbling on your dead skin.

There are some strict rules about fish foot pedicures to protect yourself and I suppose the fish too.
Before anything was done I had to wash my feet thoroughly and check for any broken skin, cuts and bites. Common sense just tells you that that is done to prevent any cross infections. Also, it is not recommended to have fish pedicure for those people with diabetes or weak immune system...

The Fish Reflexology Spa was so beautiful and relaxing with sounds of a bubbling brook playing in the background. Everything was so clean and decorated in neutral colours. So, after my preparations were done I chose to go in to the water pool with smaller fish (as I was a novice to this kind of nibbling). As soon as I dipped my feet into the warm water pool dozens of little mouths, like little suction pads headed for my feet. Looking down I saw a swarm covering everything below the ankles. It looked amazing and felt so funny and I could not stop staring at my feet. Some of the little fish went between my toes as well and that just made me laugh out louder. Looking around me I saw other people going through the same kind of thing giggling and taking pictures too.

After about 20 minutes my time in the fish pool was done it was time for foot reflexology which was done by trained foot reflexologist. They cleaned my feet again, massaged, kneaded and wiggled my toes :)

My experience of the fish pedicure was unforgettable. I really enjoyed myself and my feet were baby soft and pampered.
Have you tried it yet? What was your experience like?

Some of my nail art

These are just some of my freestyle nail art I did this year. They are simple designs and quick to do, the longest part of the process is the drying time :0)
I usually change my design every few days, so there will be more to come.

July Favourites

This year summer weather arrived to my home town of Portsmouth very late. Nevertheless, sun is out now and everyone seems to be more cheerful and smiling.

July is my favourite month of the year and summer is my favourite season. It is a time of the year when I wear lighter make-up, fresh girly scents and my nails are more vibrant too.
As July has just ended I thought I might share some of my favourite products of the past month.

1. LUCAS' PAPAW OINTMENT (lucaspapaw.com.au)
I absolutely love this product. My lovely sister-in law gave it to me to try out when I was in Australia this spring and I have used it ever since.

It has a clear colour and the consistency reminds me of Vaseline and 24 Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden. It is a fruit based product (papaya) with a lovely neutral scent. I have used it as a hand treatment, lip balm, to sooth sunburn and for insect bites. Lucas' Papaw Ointment is so versatile and practical to carry around in a bag.

2. CND SOLAR OIL (cnd.com)
This is the award winning nail and cuticle conditioner. It does exactly what it says on the bottle. In a just few weeks of using this oil my brittle nails feel so much stronger. Smells wonderful and every evening when I use it (by massaging it into my cuticles) I get tempted to lick it hehehe. CND Solar oil is full of good stuff for your nails, such as sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E.

3. HIPITCH DEEP CLEANSING OIL (alphabeautystore ebay shop)
To remove my make-up, especially heavy duty eyeliner or waterproof mascara I love using Hipitch Deep Cleansing Oil. The way I use it is so simple; just pump once into my hands, massage directly onto my face, emulsify with warm water and rinse. I definitely recommend this product, it works a treat for combination skin like mine.

4. NAUGHTY ALICE by VIVIENNE WESTWOOD (viviennewestwood.co.uk)
My July favourite fragrance. It smells of black rose, violet and ylang-ylang; it is so sensual and girly with a hint of naughtiness ;)

What are your current favourite products?
